Ezra Crane - New Trailer

The good folks over at What Madness Productions have just released a cool new trailer for their upcoming film Ezra Crane. It looks like there will be an interesting twist or two along the way, and the end of the trailer hints at an ominous showdown. Oh, and check out that dune buggy!

The Signal

This is not the new trailer! The new trailer really doesn't show much from the film, so check out the old one, which has been offline for quite a few weeks but has now been re-hosted.

Joust the Movie

GameDaily is reporting that a new Hollywood production company is working on a movie adaption of classic arcade game Joust. That's 25 year old Joust, where you fly your ostrich in combat!

producers Christine Peters (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and Michael Cerenzie (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Black Water Transit) are working on it, and describe it as "Mad Max meets Gladiator".

The film is set 25 years in the future and includes a Las Vegas suspended in mid-air!

Hard Knuckle

I finally picked up a copy of this uber-rare post-apocalyptic pool(!) movie from eBay the other day. Check out the message board for my mini-review.

Here is a new apocalyptic film from Power, who I coincidently mentioned yesterday as the company behind the new Day of the Triffids film. Unlike Triffids, Flood is finished and surprisingly opens today in one cinema (although It's a cracking cinema in the West End). From the quality of the trailer it looks like it deserves a bigger release, especially here in London where it is set. Strangely I have seen no advertising whatsoever. Hopefully it will find an audience when it hit's DVD. I will, of course, keep you all updated.

Triffids to grow again? is reporting on a new remake of Day of the Triifids, one of my favorite books. Information is scant so far, with no certain date, but it looks to be in very early production. Producers Power have a short synopsis on their site It looks set to be a 4 hour mini series, set in 2011 and written by Patrick Harbinson. As for the photo, well it's hosted on Power's website but there is no information, nor a higher res version. Hopefully we will find out more about the series in good time.

Doomsday News

I imagine we will soon be seeing a trailer for Doomsday. Neil Marshall is showing some clips at the London Filmfest tonight so hopefully some new information will sneak out soon. For now, we have an interesting article that has just popped up on the BBC website:

The New Barbarians

I posted a link to this review a couple of weeks ago, but now that Nate has donated the content (as he so kindly has with all his PA reviews) we have a new page for it here on, and it has been updated with loads of box cover scans, alternative titles, links and a trailer. Check it out:

It's a great review, and it's huge. Many thanks to Nate for the hard work!

Wiseman to Escape From New York

Rumored for a few weeks, but finally confirmed, Len Wiseman of Die Hard 4 "fame" will be directing the new Escape From New York. John Carpenter will be an executive Producer, which these days could simply mean that he liked the script. Hopefully he will get his hands dirty too.

Wasteland (2008)

I don't know how we missed this one! Wasteland is looking pretty good, and certainly seems to have an 80's post-apocalyptic style. The only thing missing is vehicles, but who's complaining! I'm very much looking forward to seeing this.

Thanks to Mad Matt on the message board for the heads up!

Last of the Living

OK, it may be "yet another" low budget zombie movie, but this looks pretty damn good, and check out their post-apocalyptic car. Nice.

The site has a nice Quicktime trailer, photo's and other info.

Diary of the Dead

Yes, it has been a quiet week for post-apocalyptic news, but with so many great films on the horizon it's sure to pick up soon. Today we have the first pictures from Diary of the Dead!

Check out the info at Ain't it Cool and click through to MySpace for additional photo's.

If anybody can get down to FrightFest in London on the 23rd of August they will have the chance to see some footage from Doomsday.

"Director Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) will be on hand to present some exclusive footage from his new futuristic horror/action film Doomsday, on the opening night of FrightFest. Directly after the screening of Dark Water, Neil will take to the stage to introduce the specially prepared footage from the film and then answer questions from the audience."

Hardware Review

Another new external review, this time at the cool Cinema Suicide.
