Raiders of the Damned

This title had totally passed me by, but I think it may be quite interesting. Dread Central have a review up and it doesn't score well, but at least "the filmmakers have their hearts in the right place". That's all that matters, right! Right? Hello?

"World War III has come and gone and with it civilization as we know it. Nuclear weapons and a synthetic virus called Agent 9-X: a one-two punch that's unleashed the walking dead."

Y: The Last Man

Not content with being one of the most famous men on earth, it looks like Indiana Jones' son Shia LaBeouf may be up for the role of the last man on earth. I'm unsure whether Y: The Last Man (an adaptation of the popular comic about the last man in a world full of women) is actually post-apcaolyptic, but it's certainly an interesting scenario, so we will keep an eye on it.

Viggo Mortensen for The Road?

The Road, Cormac McCarthy's superb novel, is certain to be one of the bigger PA movies when it starts it's transfer to the screen next year. MTV is reporting today that Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn in Lord of the Rings) is in line to play the Father character. A great casting or a bad idea?

Last Chance to Vote!

I will be closing the current round of PA vehicle votes tomorrow, so it's your last chance to get your vote in!

At the time of writing the Best Truck vote is at a draw, so your vote is needed!

I Am Omega

Here is another great find from the excellent The Global Asylum production company, those experts that brought us The Da Vinci Treasure and Snakes on a Train among other rip-off's will be letting loose I Am Omega on November 15th. I Am Omega is obviously being released to jump on the Will Smith I Am Legend bandwagon (due January).

Despite that, it still looks like it could be fun. Check out the Quicktime trailer:

Competition Time!

Want to win a DVD of the superbly bad PA Creepozoids? We have a shiny new region 2 copy to give to the winner of the first competition.

"Move over, Aliens, here come the Creepozoids. Even if you kill them, they're still deadly."

So how to win? We are looking for a new banner for the home page, to replace the standard one (below) for a while. It's a chance to show off your Photoshop skills and win yourself a DVD.

The DVD itself is region 2, but the competition is open to everybody worldwide (if the mail man can get there then your fine). The banner must include the words "post-apocalypse". Other pictures and text are up to you. Size of the banner needs to be 1600 x 300 Pixels. Simple animations allowed but file must be kept under 1/2mb. We will decide on a winner by 10th October. Entries can be emailed ( or left on the message board. Only one official entry allowed, so make sure you are happy before submitting. Feel free to put any picture you wish on the message board, but mark clearly if it is not an entry.

It's a chance to have some fun, so give it a go!

From Inside

Today we have another new film to keep a watch on. From Inside is a animated post-apocalyptic train ride through many miles of desolate scenery, with a story that follows a pregnant woman on this journey through the wastelands. Expect plenty of "dark surrealism".

It's hard to explain, so check out the superb trailer (and the first 3 minutes of the film) and director John Bergin's blog.
